Are you making the right decisions?
Unfortunately, nobody has given us a manual to life and therefore we need to figure it out ourselves.
Very little of us has their lives figured out. We are all just a young bunch, with sparkly eyes and faith in the world. Making decisions are extremely hard, especially when it comes to your own happiness and career. As I have mentioned before, what we do in our 20’s determines the rest of our lives. Look I might not know all the answers but this is my experience.
Selfish people are not nice people. They tend to only think about themselves. Today, I am going to tell you to be selfish for once in your life. Making decisions regarding your career and happiness don’t come easy. These decisions come with massive consequences. Let’s start off with career decisions.
So, there is an opportunity in other city or country, what do you do? Do you up and leave? Do you stay? What about your friends? What about your family? Before you decide, I would suggest take a long hard look at your current situation and finances. Weigh out the pros and cons of the current situation. Ask yourself, are you happy? Have you been wanting to get out of the current situation? Is there a reason you want to stay/leave? You are mid 20’s, this decision is massive and the consequences even greater. Look this isn’t really much advice but the best I can offer. When it comes to your career you must weigh out these options and look at your own future and what this opportunity could possibly offer you. Make sure that you will be earning the same as at your current job.
Enough about all the boring work stuff.
Moving for happiness and hitting the reset button on your life. This could be a really good decision, especially if you have been unhappy for a while. There will always be friends around to support your decisions no matter what city or country you live in. There will always be positive people, there will always be negative people. Just because you are starting over doesn’t mean that your demons won’t come back to haunt you. Make sure that you are relocating and hitting the reset button for the right reasons. Don’t just relocate because you are having issues with family or that your friends don’t want to hang out anymore and you are lonely. Should this decision ever come up in your life, make sure that you will be happy once you get to the other side. Make sure that you are mentally strong enough to be able to deal with a move like that. Make sure you are doing it for the right reasons.
Look, our lives are not always strawberries and cream with French Champagne and sometimes we have to just stick it out. You are a 20 something year old preparing for the rest of your life. Make sure that the decisions you are making are the best option for you. Don’t worry and listen to others. Follow your head and follow your heart.
