You have decided it’s time for some extra cash and started your own little thing.
Starting your own business is great! It gives you experience and makes you appreciate money a little bit more. Whether you are selling cosmetics or are into making shirts for your friends. Having your own little operation running requires a lot more admin than you are used to and is going to give you some extra stress.
You just had your first sale, now you want more but you hate the hours. Honey, no pain no gain. A lot of people think that their businesses are so successful that they can just sit back and relax. If you want to own that multibillion dollar company, you must work for it. Businesses don’t show profit immediately, it can take up to 2 years before you show any profit. Don’t just kick back and chill after your first few thousand. Now is the time to capitalize and work even harder.
Now that we have realized that it’s going be a lot of late nights and early morning, are you ready for it? Fact is, having your own business requires a lot of commitment both mentally and physically. Where you used to party Friday nights, you are now sitting at your desk cramming numbers and making this work. Your social life becomes an absolute null. Life is horrible. Your boss is stressing you out, the big deal you have been working hard on has just fell through. Don’t give up, this is just many of the challenges you will be facing.
This is blog is a survival guide to your 20’s, so where does all of this fit in? Truth is, the earlier you start, the better. It doesn’t mean your whole life is going down the drain. It only means that you are chasing your dreams. Working hard towards your goals is a good thing, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Rome wasn’t built in one day. Bill Gates didn’t slack off.
The emotional and mental commitment to achieving success is a full-time thing. Think of it this way, you have given birth to a little baby. This baby needs feeding and attention or else it will die. This baby will have some good times and some bad times. Like anything else, it will need you to stick to it and not give up on it. It may be difficult but the success you will gain in the end will make it all worth it.
No one is an expert on things. So, take some advice from your friends and colleagues. Start doing some research and see if this will work. Anything is possible if you believe in yourself. Things will work out much better if you have a positive outlook on things. There is a quote that says, if you are not doing what you love you are wasting your time. There is so much truth in this quote. We should all be doing what we would and not wasting our time. What’s the point of life if you hate every single day?
